Sustainable Harvest Announces Dates and Theme for 2025 Let’s Talk Coffee Event

Specialty green coffee importer Sustainable Harvest announced that their annual origin-based conference, Let’s Talk Coffee, will happen September 25-27, 2025 in Lima, Peru. The theme for the event this year will be “The Climate of Business & the Business of Climate,” with discussions centering around how to help members along the coffee chain deal with the climate crisis.

The event is invitation-only, and registration will open at the end of this month at letstalkcoffee.org.

Energy drink company UPTIME Energy has acquired cold-brew company RISE Brewing Co., merging two independent brands into one fully integrated platform. “Together, we are uniquely positioned to challenge the multinationals that dominate our categories and bring superior, healthier options to more people,” says Stephen Choi, chair of UPTIME.

Popular Vancouver Coffee Chain Artigiano Buys Salt Spring Coffee

Specialty roaster Artigiano has acquired Salt Spring Coffee, merging two formidable Vancouver, Canada, coffee chains into one. Artigiano owner Dean Shillington calls the acquisition a “milestone” for both companies, describing Salt Spring’s dedication to sustainability and coffee quality as aligned with Artigiano’s values.

Dubai Coffee Auction Sets New Record Prices with Panamanian Gesha

The inaugural Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Specialty Coffee Auction saw record prices for specialty coffee. The highest-selling coffee came from Finca Sophia, a farm in Panama, and sold for $10,020 USD per kilo. Meanwhile, a lot of Kona SL 34 from Hawai’i set a new record for American coffee, going for $910 USD per kg: eight times the previous highest price paid for Kona.

The list of fashion labels venturing into the specialty-coffee world is continuing to grow, with designer brands like Comme des Garçons, Kitsuné, Dior, and Tiffany’s all making their entrance into the café scene. Now you really can have breakfast at Tiffany’s—complete with a quality shot of espresso.
